Leslie Sara Carroll

Gosh, what shall I say about my friend Leslie? I met her when she expertly played (and sang) Luciana in THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE which I directed as a reading for Riverside Shakespeare. Then she played Isabel for me in a reading of MEASURE FOR MEASURE, again at Riverside. After that she hired me to direct for her company, Survivor Productions, THE FROZEN DEEP (by Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins, no less) and THE TYRANNY OF TEARS. When Cressid, my newly-created company, set out to produce MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, we had no 501(c)(3) status, so Leslie's company became the producer.

Now she is a successful novelist, and I wish her all the happiness in the universe. She was extraordinarily kind to me, and shared with me her knowledge and power when I had none.
